Turkey extends Istanbul urban transformation support to 2027

The Turkish government has officially extended the deadline for the ‘Yarısı Bizden’ (Half from Us) urban transformation campaign in Istanbul to December 31, 2027. The decision, published in the Official Gazette, aims to accelerate the renewal of the city's building stock to increase resilience against potential disasters.

Under the program, citizens undergoing building-based transformation projects can receive financial support totaling 1,875,000 TL per residence. This includes an 875,000 TL grant, an 875,000 TL loan, and 125,000 TL for moving expenses. For commercial properties, the support includes a 437,500 TL grant, a 437,500 TL loan, and 125,000 TL for moving costs.

In large-scale, area-based transformations, TOKİ or Emlak Konut will manage the construction. In these cases, the 875,000 TL grant is deducted from the building cost, with any remaining debt being paid in installments under favorable long-term conditions. As of late September, the number of completed independent units under the campaign has reached 123,396.
