Turkey issues wheat disease alerts in Konya and Kars
Agricultural authorities in Turkey have warned farmers of wheat diseases in two regions. In the Kulu district of Konya, a survey by the district Agriculture and Forestry Directorate identified pas disease on several wheat fields. Officials urged growers to regularly inspect their crops, apply appropriate plant protection products promptly, and follow technical recommendations to prevent yield losses.
In Kars province, the regional Agriculture and Forestry Directorate has cautioned against the spread of yellow rust and Septoria root rot following a rainy season and rising temperatures. Field inspections are underway, with advice to avoid dense planting, limit excessive nitrogen fertilisation, and ensure adequate air circulation. Both directorates emphasized ongoing monitoring and farmer education to safeguard plant health and sustain agricultural production.
