Turkey to establish Fraud Combat Center under DOLUNAY Project
Turkey's Ministers of Interior, Mustafa Çiftçi, and Justice, Akın Gürlek, have announced the launch of the DOLUNAY Project to combat cyber fraud. A central Fraud Combat Center will be established within the Ministry of Interior to coordinate efforts between the judiciary, police, gendarmerie, MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board), and the banking sector.
The project aims to intervene within the first 18 minutes of a fraud report. By utilizing artificial intelligence-supported analysis, the system will monitor suspicious financial movements in real-time, specifically targeting the rapid transfer of funds into different bank accounts, digital wallets, and crypto assets. This mechanism is designed to facilitate the swift freezing of accounts to protect citizens' assets and ensure victims can recover their losses.
