Turkey lifts unemployment insurance fund use to 50%

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a decree, published in the Official Gazette, that raises the proportion of the Unemployment Insurance Fund that can be drawn from 30% to 50% for the year 2026.

The additional resources are designated for projects that improve employability, lower unemployment, support workers displaced by technological change, and cover job‑counseling services, labour‑market research, planning activities and related personnel expenses. The Labor and Social Security Minister is responsible for implementing the new measures.
