Turkey luxury car market sees over 10,000‑unit drop for BMW, Audi and Mercedes‑Benz in H1 2026

In the first half of 2026 Turkey’s premium‑segment car sales fell 9.63% year‑on‑year to 59,091 units, according to the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). The combined sales loss for BMW, Audi and Mercedes‑Benz exceeded 10,000 units, marking a sharp contraction for the three leading luxury brands.

Overall automobile and light‑commercial‑vehicle sales declined 11.44% to 105,041 units, with passenger‑car sales down 10.35% to 83,978 and light‑commercial sales down 15.53% to 21,063. While the premium segment’s market share held steady at about 13.4%, competitors such as Volvo, Jeep and MINI managed to increase sales, showing resilience in a shrinking market. The slowdown is linked to tighter financing conditions, higher vehicle prices and consumers postponing purchases, ending a period of uninterrupted growth for Turkey’s luxury‑car market.
