Turkey: Man arrested for assaulting 85-year-old mother

Ibrahim Yaprak, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested in southeastern Turkey after allegedly assaulting his 85-year-old mother. The attack occurred in the Turkmenoren neighborhood of Bozova, located in the Sanliurfa province.

According to reports, Yaprak attacked the elderly woman with a wooden stick and fists in her garden. Neighbors transported the victim to the Bozova state hospital, where she remains in serious condition. Video footage captured part of the aggression, showing the assailant shouting at the woman while she lay on the ground.

Yaprak had recently returned to Turkey after serving a 15-year prison sentence in Switzerland for the killing of his wife. Turkish police arrested him shortly after the incident.
