Turkey women's volleyball team to play Canada in 2026 VNL quarterfinal
The Turkish women’s national volleyball team, nicknamed “Filenin Sultanları”, will face Canada in the quarter‑final of the 2026 FIVB Women’s Nations League (VNL). The match is scheduled for 23 July 2026 at 11:00 local time (TSI) in the East Asian Games Dome in Macau, China. Coach Daniele Santarelli said the power balance among the world’s top teams is very close and highlighted Canada’s height and experience as a tough opponent.
Turkey entered the final stage for the eighth consecutive time, having finished as champions in 2023 and consistently placing among the world’s top teams. The quarter‑finals also feature Italy vs. Holland and Brazil vs. Japan, with the semi‑finals set for 25 July and the final on 26 July. The match will be broadcast in Turkey on TRT Spor, S Sport and S Sport Plus.
In addition to the women’s squad, the Turkish men’s team (“Filenin Efeleri”) qualified for the VNL finals for the first time, marking the nation’s simultaneous presence in both men’s and women’s tournaments.
