Turkey minibus crash kills seven people, including two children

A minibus carrying 18 people overturned in the Lice district of Turkey on Saturday, Aug. 15, resulting in the deaths of seven people, including two children. The vehicle was traveling from Diyarbakır to Muş for an engagement ceremony when a tire burst, causing the driver to lose control and roll down an embankment into a ditch.

The victims, identified as five siblings and two nephews, included 3-year-old Zeyd Saylikay and Nazya Demirhan. Nine other passengers sustained injuries during the accident. The Diyarbakır Governorship confirmed that medical teams were dispatched immediately and injured citizens were transferred to hospitals. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
