Turkey Ministry of Agriculture announces new crop production support regulations
The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has released a new regulation regarding plant production supports, which has been published in the Official Gazette. The new provisions cover the 2025 to 2027 period and introduce changes to production inspections, planting planning, and support conditions.
Key updates include the implementation of new documentation for inspections conducted via Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing, or unmanned aerial vehicles. For on-site assessments, a new Planned Production Land Determination Report will be utilized. Additionally, the regulation provides separate support for biological and biotechnological control when two different authorized products are used against different pests on the same crop.
In dry farming, new rules allow for the consecutive planting of barley, wheat, rye, triticale, and oats. Special support regulations have also been established for potato and carrot production in the Kumlu and Reyhanlı basins of Hatay. While some support provisions have been removed, a minimum area requirement of 10 decares will be implemented for 2027. Certain amendments will take effect on January 1, 2026, while other provisions will begin on January 1, 2027.
