Turkey Ministry of Agriculture identifies banned dyes in 11 sausage spice brands

The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has identified prohibited dye substances in several sausage spice and mixture products. Following laboratory inspections, these items have been added to the ‘Foods That Endanger Health’ list as of October 22, 2026.

Metinler Gıda ve Baharat Sanayi, based in Bandırma, Balıkesir, was identified as the producer with the most non-compliant batches. Specifically, five batches of Tomurcuk Baharat (Sucuk Kombi) and one batch of Babasan (Sucuk Harcı Pro) were flagged.

Other affected producers include companies in Çorum (Salih Sucukları, Atılım Et, and Seval Et Tavuk Ürünleri), Istanbul (Spice Baba Gıda's Dört Mevsim Baharat), and Kahramanmaraş (Buldumlar Baharat). The Ministry emphasized that the findings apply only to the specific batch numbers listed and advised consumers to check packaging for matching serial numbers and to consult official government websites for updates.
