Turkey Ministry of Family and Social Services announces 24/7 violence monitoring
The Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services has announced that its General Directorate of Legal Services is conducting 24/7 monitoring of violence and violence-risk cases across 81 provinces. Operating under Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and Prevention of Violence Against Women, the ministry is actively intervening in legal proceedings to protect the rights of victims.
The ministry's legal team monitors investigations, requests intervention in cases once indictments are served, and attends hearings. They also review judicial rulings and may pursue ordinary or extraordinary legal remedies when necessary.
Support services are available through Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services, Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers (ŞÖNİM), Social Service Centers, and the ALO 183 Violence Combat Line.
