Turkey Ministry of Health to conduct 130th term physician assignment lottery

The Turkish Ministry of Health is conducting the 130th term of the State Service Obligation (DHY) lottery to determine the assignment locations for general practitioners and specialists. The lottery is scheduled to take place on September 4, 2026, at the Ministry of Health Bilkent Campus in the presence of a notary.

In Tekirdağ, CHP Deputy Nurten Yontar has welcomed the announcement that 284 physicians—comprising 248 general practitioners and 36 specialists—will be assigned to the province. Yontar emphasized that these appointments must be implemented promptly to address the growing healthcare needs caused by Tekirdağ’s increasing population and industrial density. She urged that the distribution of doctors should be based on population density and specific branch needs in districts such as Çorlu, Çerkezköy, and others to ensure residents do not have to travel to different districts for specialist care.
