Turkey names new chief prosecutors for Ankara and Konya

The Judges and Prosecutors Council (HSK) issued decree No. 1250 appointing Istanbul deputy public prosecutor Aykut Çelik as the new chief public prosecutor for Ankara. The same decree named Ömer Orucu as deputy chief prosecutor in Ankara and also assigned Ahmet Akdeniz to the deputy position.

In a separate HSK decree No. 1251, Cuma Çoban, previously the chief prosecutor of Konya, was transferred to the Supreme Court of Appeals. Mehmet Uzun, who had served as the chief prosecutor of Kütahya and held prior posts in several provinces, was appointed as the new chief prosecutor for Konya.
