Turkey offers free pregnancy education in Nazilli and Elazığ
In Nazilli district, the local health directorate runs a "Gebe Okulu" (Pregnant School) program that provides expectant mothers with information on pregnancy development, prenatal care, immunizations, nutrition, hygiene, psychological changes, exercise, birth methods, postpartum care, and family planning. Sessions include practical training with physiotherapists on breathing techniques and safe exercises, and the centre invites all pregnant women to register via phone (0256 502 87 47).
At Elazığ's Medilines Hospital, a free "Gebe Okulu" project was launched, offering comprehensive education from conception through postpartum. The curriculum covers diet, regular exercise, stages of labor, delivery methods, emergency handling, breastfeeding, newborn care, and includes breathing, pilates, and hands‑on baby‑care practice. The program is staffed by obstetrician Dr. Sami Güngör, midwife Ayşe Tataroğlu, dietitians, psychologists and nurses, aiming to encourage normal vaginal birth and safe deliveries.
