Turkey opens paid instructor applications and court backs retroactive teacher pay

The Niğde Halk Eğitimi Merkezi announced that applications for paid master instructors for the 2026‑2027 academic year will be accepted from 1 – 31 August 2026. Candidates will be evaluated by a commission, with timelines for announcements and appointments extending into September.

In a separate development, Istanbul’s 8th Administrative Court ruled that teachers who serve as coordinators are entitled to retroactive, interest‑bearing payment of increased extra‑lesson fees, even when they do not physically attend classes. The decision applies the principle that extra‑lesson compensation covers all duties performed and orders past unpaid amounts to be paid with legal interest.
