Turkey outlines 2027-2029 public investment priorities

Turkey's Public Investment Program Preparation Guide for the 2027-2029 period outlines a strategic focus on economic and social infrastructure projects that the private sector cannot undertake. The plan aims to reduce production costs, create new capacities, and foster innovative and competitive growth to enhance national welfare and employment.

Priority sectors include manufacturing, agriculture and food, tourism, and the defense industry. To support these, investments will target horizontal areas such as R&D, digitalization, human resources, logistics, energy, and education. The program also emphasizes reducing regional development disparities by considering spatial distribution and regional policies in investment allocations.

In the agricultural sector, priority will be given to large-scale infrastructure and research projects managed by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), specifically focusing on irrigation projects where water transmission facilities are completed or ongoing.
