Turkey pays 158.8 million lira in July natural‑gas aid to 504,000 households

Aile ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanı Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the July disbursement under the Regular Natural Gas Consumption Support Program has been transferred to beneficiaries' accounts. The payment covered 504,638 eligible households, amounting to a total of 158,836,000 Turkish lira.

The program, which entered the regular social‑aid system in 2023, provides assistance to Turkish citizens who reside in districts with natural‑gas supply and meet the criteria set by the Social Solidarity Foundation. Payments are made every two months for the eight‑month period from October to May. Göktaş also noted that the 2026 schedule plans to expand support to 617,680 households with a total allocation of 1.069 billion lira.
