Turkey experiences widespread planned electricity outages
Multiple provinces across Turkey are experiencing widespread planned electricity outages due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, grid modernization, and network repairs.
In the western and central regions, cities including Izmir, Bursa, Konya, Kütahya, and Aydın are undergoing significant electrical works. These include transformer maintenance, underground cable installations, and tree trimming to protect lines. Some areas, such as Iznik and Orhangazi in Bursa, may face outages lasting up to nine hours.
In the eastern and southern regions, provinces such as Diyarbakır, Van, Siirt, and Rize are also affected by maintenance and investment projects. In Siirt, works involve transformer maintenance and new facility installations, while Diyarbakır is seeing repairs across 16 districts. In Van, investment works are concentrated in the İpekyolu district.
In the Mediterranean region, Antalya provinces including Alanya and Gazipaşa are seeing outages for network investment projects. Residents across these various provinces are advised to take precautions for their electronic devices and to monitor official utility provider schedules for real-time updates.
