Turkey Plans Water Supply Cutoffs in Trabzon and Izmir

On 12 June 2026, authorities in Trabzon announced planned maintenance that will temporarily suspend water service in two neighbourhoods: Arsin’s Cumhuriyet area from 10:00 to 12:00 and Sürmene’s Çarşı area from 08:00 to 12:00. The interruptions are expected to last two to four hours, and residents were advised to store sufficient water in advance.

Two days earlier, on 10 June 2026, İzmir’s water utility issued a city‑wide schedule of water cuts affecting dozens of districts, including Bayındır, Bergama, Bornova, Buca, and others. The outages, caused by pipe, valve and pump repairs, range from about one to four hours. Local officials asked households and businesses to plan water usage accordingly.
