Eskişehir driver fined 46,000 TL for riding plaka‑less electric motorcycle
Police traffic officers stopped a 27‑year‑old driver in Eskişehir who was riding an electric motorcycle belonging to his spouse without a licence plate and without a helmet. The vehicle was seized for one month, the driver’s licence was suspended for the same period, and a fine of 46,000 Turkish lira was imposed. After the inspection the driver was forced to continue his journey by taxi.
The incident occurred during a routine traffic check in the Tepebaşı district’s Hoşnudiye neighbourhood, part of a broader enforcement effort targeting unregistered and unsafe two‑wheelers. The police emphasized that operating a vehicle without registration can lead to a 200,000‑TL penalty if repeated.
The case illustrates the authorities’ stricter application of traffic‑safety regulations for electric motorcycles in Turkey.
