Turkey police seize weapons and cash in raid on 'Söylemez Kardeşler' crime syndicate

The Istanbul Jandarma, coordinated with the Bakırköy Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted simultaneous pre‑dawn raids on 13 locations in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir targeting the organized crime group known as “Söylemez Kardeşler”. The operation resulted in the detention of eight suspects, while four members who had fled remain at large. One of the detained individuals was already serving a prison sentence for a separate offense.

Authorities recovered two unlicensed pistols, four magazines, 176 rounds of ammunition, a ballistic vest, and large sums of cash – TL 1,458,800, €39,200 and $26,900 – along with extensive organisational documents and digital material. Investigators say the group, led by M.F.S., extorted wealthy individuals and commercial enterprises, using a “mediation” façade before resorting to threats, coercion and armed attacks to collect money.

Search operations for the four fugitives continue.
