Turkey Prepares 2027 Hajj Registrations for Nearly 85,000 Pilgrims

The Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı) announced that 1,878,046 Turkish citizens applied for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. After a public draw on 22 July, 84,942 candidates secured a confirmed slot. Registrations must be completed on the e‑Devlet portal by 18 August, with a secondary filing period from 24 August to 1 September for remaining vacancies.

Applicants are required to choose authorized travel agencies – 352 firms that hold a contract with the Directorate – and may view all eligible agencies in their province via e‑Devlet. Payment of pilgrimage fees can be made in full or in installments (40 % upfront, remainder in two installments) through designated banks. Pilgrims must also attend mandatory preparation courses organized by local muftis and meet with convoy leaders before departure.

Diyaeddin Şahin, member of the Inter‑ministerial Hajj and Umrah Committee and chairman of HURSAD, warned applicants to verify all travel details, avoid unlicensed operators, and ensure they possess a Hajj visa. He highlighted that the Turkish Hajj organization has received the “Best Organization” award for two consecutive years.
