Turkey and Northern Cyprus celebrate 104th Victory Day
Turkey and Northern Cyprus are preparing to celebrate the 104th anniversary of Victory Day (August 30), marking the success of the Great Offensive led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Across various regions, officials and local leaders have issued messages emphasizing national unity, independence, and the historical significance of the victory. In Çanakkale, official ceremonies will include wreath-laying at the Atatürk Monument and a parade at Kordon, followed by a band concert. Uşak will host a week-long series of cultural, sporting, and technological events, including traditional sports and paramotor shows.
In Northern Cyprus, celebrations will include wreath-laying ceremonies at the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia and parades in Famagusta and Kyrenia. Various municipalities are also organizing community-focused events, such as space-themed activities for children in Yunusemre, international folk dance festivals in Balçova and Lefkosha, and musical concerts in Kadıköy and Kahramanmaraş.
