Turkey prepares updated Medium Term Program for 2027-2029

Turkish economic management is intensifying efforts to prepare the updated Medium Term Program (OVP) for the 2027-2029 period. The Presidency of Strategy and Budget and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance are working to finalize macroeconomic targets, including inflation, growth, unemployment, current account deficit, and trade figures.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the updated program is expected to be shared with the public in the first week of September. The primary objectives are to maintain price stability while continuing to develop growth, employment, and investment. The program aims to increase predictability for both the public and private sectors by accounting for global, regional, and national developments.

In parallel, preparations for the 2027 central government budget law proposal are accelerating. The budget proposal, which will include revenue estimates and expenditure ceilings based on the OVP targets, is scheduled to be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey by October 17.
