Turkey private school tuition tops 3 million TL for top institutions

Private schools across Turkey have announced tuition fees for the 2026‑2027 academic year that range from about 450,000 TL to a peak of 2,751,000 TL per student. Including mandatory fees for transport, meals, supplies and extracurricular activities, the total annual cost can approach 3 million TL at the most expensive institutions such as the British International School, Robert College and Saint‑Joseph French High School.

The Ministry of National Education has set legal ceiling‑increase rates of 30.74 % for existing lower‑grade students and 43.92 % for new admissions, aiming to curb excessive price hikes. School operators cite rising personnel, operating and supply costs and are urging the government for VAT relief. Parents who feel fees breach regulations may file complaints with local education directorates.

These figures represent a significant financial burden for families seeking private education in major Turkish cities, with many schools adding hundreds of thousands of lira for meals, transportation and other services.
