Turkey distributes 1.08 billion lira in natural gas support
Turkey’s Ministry of Family and Social Services has announced that 1.082 billion lira in natural gas consumption support was distributed to 620,464 eligible households during the first nine months of 2026.
Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that the program, which was integrated into regular social assistance in 2023, aims to alleviate heating costs for low-income families. To qualify, applicants must be Turkish citizens, reside in areas with a natural gas supply, and apply via the e-Devlet portal. Final eligibility is determined by local Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations.
Payment amounts vary by province to account for regional temperature differences. Beneficiaries can pay bills through the e-Devlet portal or use 'Family Cards' issued by Halkbank at Halkbank and TAM ATMs. Once approved, recipients do not need to reapply for each payment period.
