Turkey public opinion poll reveals perceptions of foreign nations

A public opinion poll conducted by ASAL Research and Consultancy across 26 Turkish cities reveals how citizens perceive various nations as either friends or enemies. The survey, which included 2,000 participants, highlights significant geopolitical sentiments.

Israel was identified as the country most frequently viewed as an enemy, with approximately 83% to 84% of respondents labeling it as such. The United States followed as the second most viewed enemy, with rates between 70.5% and 74.6%. Other nations perceived largely as enemies include Greece and Iran.

Conversely, Azerbaijan emerged as the most viewed friend of Turkey, with 66% of participants expressing positive sentiment. Japan and China also ranked highly among perceived friends, with 58.4% and 49.5% respectively. In some cases, such as with Russia, France, and Italy, public opinion was more divided between friend and enemy classifications.
