Turkey pushes agriculture as strategic priority in domestic policy and EU export plans
Anahtar Party leader Yavuz Ağıralioğlu said agriculture is as vital to Turkey as UAV and missile production, urging the country to secure food self‑sufficiency, lower bread prices and support farmers. He stated, "Tarım da bizim için İHA, SİHA kadar önemlidir," and pledged to cover input costs for producers.
Agriculture and Natural Resources Minister Hüseyin Çavuş highlighted a joint EU‑World Bank study aimed at expanding Turkish‑Cypriot farm product sales to EU markets via the Green Line. The initiative seeks to boost trade volume, improve competitiveness and align exports with EU standards.
Both statements reflect a broader effort to strengthen Turkey’s agricultural sector for domestic stability and international market access.
