Turkey recalls Baykan boilers and Schwank heaters

The Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology has issued a recall for two heating products following inspections by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate. The decision aims to stop the sale, prevent market presence, and recall the items due to safety and efficiency concerns.

The first product, the Baykan Güneş Premix 30 kW combi boiler produced by Akrım Isı Endüstri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, was found to fail energy efficiency criteria.

The second product, the Schwank Primoschwank 30/1 ceramic radiant heater produced by Optimum Isıtma Çözümleri Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, poses a significant health risk. Inspections revealed that the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) produced during combustion carries a risk of poisoning.

The Ministry has urged consumers owning these devices to stop using them immediately and return them to the specified companies.
