Turkey records multiple magnitude‑4 quakes on June 28, 2026, no casualties reported

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Kandilli Observatory logged a series of seismic events across Turkey on 28 June 2026. The strongest tremor was recorded in Sındırgı district of Balıkesir province, with AFAD reporting a magnitude of 4.0 at a depth of 11.3 km and the Kandilli Observatory noting a magnitude of 4.1 at 12.7 km. The quake was felt locally but caused no deaths or structural damage, and authorities have so far received no reports of injuries.

Aftershocks ranging from magnitude 1.0 to 2.0 continued through the evening, and similar low‑magnitude quakes were observed in other provinces including Kütahya (Simav), Aydın (Kuşadası), Muğla (Dalaman), as well as in the vicinity of Van, Malatya, Kayseri, İzmir, Adana, Bursa and Ankara. The wide‑area activity prompted residents to monitor updates from AFAD and Kandilli in real time, while response teams continued damage assessments in the affected villages.
