Turkey records multiple minor earthquakes on July 31, 2026

On July 31 2026 a series of low‑magnitude tremors was detected across Turkey. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Kandilli Observatory reported micro‑earthquakes in eastern Anatolia—including a 2.0 ML event near Aslantaş Dam in Kahramanmaraş and a 2.2 ML quake in Erzincan’s Ilic district—followed by several 1.0‑1.8 ML shocks in Malatya’s Akçadağ, Battalgazi and Doğanşehir districts, as well as in Manisa (Akhisar), Kayseri (Pınarbaşı), Balıkesir (Sındırgi) and Giresun (Çamoluk).

The events were felt only lightly by local residents and no injuries or structural damage were reported. Seismologists described the activity as typical micro‑stress releases along the East Anatolian Fault Zone and other local faults, noting that such minor movements are part of the region’s normal tectonic behavior.
