Turkey records several minor quakes in Ankara, Izmir and the Aegean region

On July 25, AFAD and the Kandilli Observatory reported micro‑earthquakes in Turkey's two largest metropolises: Ankara’s Beypazarı (magnitude 1.8, depth 6.9 km) and Izmir’s Menemen (magnitude 1.6, depth 10.6 km). Additional low‑magnitude tremors (below magnitude 2) were detected in Kütahya, Van, Malatya and Kahramanmaraş, all causing no damage.

The previous day, a magnitude 4.1 quake struck the Aegean Sea near Çanakkale at a depth of 3.1 km, following a 3.9‑magnitude event earlier that day. Earlier in the week, July 21 and July 15 saw further quakes in the same basin. Officials emphasized that these were minor events with no injuries or structural harm reported.
