Diyarbakır plaza fire leaves eight people affected by smoke

A fire broke out in the exterior facade of a 12-story plaza in the Talaytepe neighborhood of the Kayapınar district in Diyarbakır. The blaze spread quickly across the building's floors and reached the roof.

Emergency responders, including fire departments, AFAD, and police, arrived at the scene to manage the situation. One individual was rescued from the building by firefighters using ladder trucks.

According to Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, eight people were affected by smoke inhalation, including three firefighters and five plaza occupants. All eight individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment, though no serious injuries were reported.

While the fire was largely brought under control within an hour, cooling efforts continued at the roof. The building, which is used for commercial and office purposes, sustained significant damage. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
