Turkey reports successful eye surgery and facial reconstruction complications

In Afyonkarahisar, 72‑year‑old Mustafa Suna suffered vision loss from a rare macular hole in both eyes. Surgeons Prof. Dr. Müberra Akdoğan and Doç. Dr. Özgür Eroğul at Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University performed a series of operations, including hole closure and cataract surgery, restoring his visual acuity to roughly 50‑60% in the left eye and 80% in the right, allowing him to drive again.

Social‑media influencer Didem Ceran underwent a 15‑hour facial aesthetic procedure in South Korea in February. Complications—including a hematoma and partial facial paralysis—prompted a revision surgery in July and a continued recovery. Ceran reported ongoing facial palsy and expressed the desire for full functional restoration of her face.
