Adana man D. G. assaults wife with hammer and knife; remains at large

On 12 July 2026 in the Mahfesığmaz neighbourhood of Çukurova district, Adana, 43‑year‑old foreign national D. G. attacked his 38‑year‑old wife K. C. with a hammer and then stabbed her in the throat. The victim was left the scene bleeding heavily and was taken to Adana City Hospital in critical condition. Two children present in the home were placed in protective custody by police.

After the assault D. G. fled the apartment, traveling by minibus to Yumurtalık where he was located in a barn and arrested by homicide detectives. He was detained, transferred to the local court and remanded in custody pending further investigation.
