Turkey retirement: No new gradual retirement law enacted
There is currently no new legislation regarding gradual retirement in Turkey for workers insured between 1999 and 2008. Despite various images and tables circulating online claiming to show new age and premium requirements for 2026, these do not represent official or enacted laws. Until a legal amendment is passed, retirement calculations will continue to follow existing regulations.
For individuals who worked before the critical EYT (Early Retirement Age) cutoff of September 8, 1999, but whose records show missing premiums or incomplete insurance entries, experts suggest reviewing historical employment documents. In cases where an employer may have submitted a start date but failed to pay subsequent premiums, workers are advised to contact their local Social Security Institution (SGK) unit to investigate old records before pursuing legal action.
