Turkey rolls out wedding and newborn aid packages in Kahramanmaraş and Aydın

Retailer Aygün AVM in Kahramanmaraş introduced a comprehensive "çeyiz" (wedding) package that bundles white‑goods, kitchen appliances and a television. The bundles, priced around 75,000 TL, are offered with up to twelve‑month installment plans and are promoted as a cost‑effective way for couples to furnish a new home.

In the nearby Aydın district of Karacasu, the local kaymakamlık launched a municipal support scheme under the "Family and Population Ten‑Year" project. The programme provides a wedding gift to newly married couples and a "welcome" gift for each newborn, funded through the 3294 law on social assistance. Eligibility requires applicants to meet the legal criteria for social aid.

Both initiatives aim to reduce the financial burden on young families and strengthen social solidarity during key life events.
