Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan sign trilateral defence pact in Mecca
On 7 August 2026 the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan signed a trilateral defence agreement in Mecca. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the signing.
The pact is defensive in nature, does not replace existing bilateral or multilateral treaties and is open to cooperation with other regional states.
