Turkey schedules extensive 2026 electricity maintenance, including 1.7 bn TL upgrades and July outages

Aras Elektrik announced a 1.702 billion‑TL maintenance program for the 2026‑2030 period covering its service area in Ağrı, Ardahan, Bayburt, Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars and Iğdır. The plan includes low‑ and high‑voltage line work, tree trimming, transformer and panel servicing, distribution‑center upgrades and lighting maintenance, with the aim of improving grid reliability and preventing faults.

Separately, Gediz Elektrik will carry out scheduled power cuts on 2 July 2026 across numerous districts of İzmir province, including Aliağa, Bornova, Çeşme, Dikili, Foça, Karaburun, Kiraz, Menemen, Ödemiş, Seferihisar, Selçuk, Tire and Urla. Outages will occur at varied times between early morning and late afternoon, affecting specific streets and neighborhoods as detailed by the utility. The interruptions are intended to facilitate necessary network repairs and modernization.

Both initiatives reflect a broader effort by Turkish electricity distributors to modernize infrastructure, reduce outage risk and ensure continuous service for consumers.
