Turkey plans widespread power cuts in June 2026
Turkey's electricity distributors have announced a series of planned outages in early June 2026 to carry out grid renewal and maintenance work. In Muğla province, ADM Elektrik will cut power in eight districts on 9 June, with outages scheduled between 08:30 and 20:00 depending on the area. In Uşak, the Osmangazi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (OEDAŞ) will suspend service on 8 June across numerous streets and neighborhoods, with work slated from 09:00 to 17:00. In the Aegean city of İzmir, Gediz Elektrik and GDZ Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ have listed cuts for 8‑9 June affecting dozens of districts such as Bayındır, Bergama, Buca and Bornova, with outage windows ranging from early morning to late afternoon.
All interruptions are described as temporary and will be ended early if work finishes ahead of schedule. The coordinated maintenance aims to modernise the regional electricity network and improve reliability for residents and businesses.
