Turkey schedules major electricity outages in Ankara and Istanbul, June 2026
Turkey's electricity distribution company, Başkent Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ (BEDAŞ), announced planned maintenance and network upgrades that will cause scheduled power cuts across several districts in Ankara from June 6 to June 10, 2026. The outages affect central neighborhoods such as Altındağ, Çankaya, Keçiören, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Elmadağ and Kalecik, with shutdown periods ranging from early morning to late afternoon, typically ending by 17:00‑17:30 each day. Additional rural and suburban areas, including Çamlıdere, Ayaş and Beypazarı, will experience longer interruptions.
A separate program slated for June 5, 2026 will affect numerous districts of Istanbul. The city‑wide maintenance work, also organized by BEDAŞ, will result in temporary electricity loss in identified neighborhoods throughout the day.
Authorities have urged residents and businesses to monitor the published schedules and prepare for the temporary loss of power.
