Turkey schedules widespread electricity and water outages in July 2026
Turkey's electricity distributors announced a series of planned power interruptions across dozens of districts in late July 2026. UEDAŞ will cut electricity in 13 districts of Bursa on 24 July, while Osmangazi Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ will suspend service in many neighbourhoods of Eskişehir on the same day. Similar outages are slated for İzmir (25 July), Uşak (24 July) and other provinces, affecting thousands of households as crews perform network renewal, maintenance and repair work.
Water supply interruptions will also occur. In Trabzon, six neighbourhoods will face cuts on 22 July, with the longest outage lasting six hours. Mersin province expects water cuts on 24 July in Çamlıyayla, Erdemli, Gülnar and Tarsus districts due to pipe failures. Istanbul’s Küçükçekmede district reported a pipe‑burst causing a water outage on 24 July, with service expected to resume around 17:00.
Authorities have advised residents to prepare by storing water and limiting electricity usage during the scheduled windows, noting that earlier completion of work could shorten the interruptions.
