Turkey schedules major power cuts in Istanbul and Izmir next week

On June 14, 2026, Boğaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ (BEDAŞ) will carry out planned maintenance on the electricity grid in Istanbul, affecting districts such as Arnavutköy, Bağcılar, Esenyurt, Esenler, Güngören, Beylikdüzü and Kağıthane. The work includes transformer servicing and new cable connections, with outage periods ranging from a few hours to most of the day.

A day later, on June 15, 2026, Gediz Elektrik announced scheduled power interruptions in Izmir. Fifteen districts, including Beydağ, Alakeçili, Atatürk, Bakırköy, Beyköy and others, will experience outages as the company upgrades its network and performs maintenance. The notice lists specific streets and villages where electricity will be unavailable for several hours.

Both utilities advise residents to follow the published schedules to minimize inconvenience and plan accordingly.
