Turkey scholarship support increases for 2026 academic year

Scholarship opportunities and support amounts for university students in Turkey have been updated for the 2026 period. Various institutions, including government agencies, foundations, and NGOs, offer monthly support that can reach up to 9,000 TL depending on the specific program.

Government-provided KYK scholarships and loans for 2026 have seen increases, with monthly payments set at 4,000 TL for undergraduate students, 8,000 TL for master's students, and 12,000 TL for doctoral students. While scholarships are non-refundable, student loans must be repaid after graduation.

Private organizations are also expanding their reach due to rising economic pressures. The Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD) announced it will increase its scholarship amounts by 100% for the 2026-2027 academic year to combat the difficulty of accessing education. Under this plan, secondary education support will rise to 2,500 TL per month, and higher education support will increase to 5,000 TL per month.

Other notable providers include the Sabancı Foundation, Anadolu Foundation, and the Istanbul Chamber of Industry Foundation, the latter of which prioritizes engineering students studying in Istanbul, Kocaeli, or Tekirdağ.
