Turkey seeks to resume Ukraine negotiations by end of 2026
Turkey expects the negotiation process regarding the conflict in Ukraine to resume before the end of 2026. A source within the Turkish government indicated that Ankara is prepared to support diplomatic efforts and maintains expectations for the resumption of contact.
Turkey has expressed readiness to host these negotiations in Istanbul, offering to provide the necessary security conditions for the talks. This follows previous statements from Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, who noted that Turkey and other nations have shown willingness to provide venues for trilateral discussions.
The Kremlin has previously indicated an openness to resuming trilateral talks in the foreseeable future. Earlier this year, trilateral meetings involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine were held in the United Arab Emirates, with possibilities mentioned for future talks to take place in Abu Dhabi.
