Turkey sees rise in gold and silver prices

Gold prices in Turkey edged higher on Friday, with spot gold gaining 0.24% to 6,167 TL and the gram price rising 1.12% to 6,237 TL by 09:20 GMT. Quarter gold was quoted at 10,244 TL and the Cumhuriyet gold at 40,825 TL. The ounce price climbed 1% to $4,095, helped by easing U.S.–Iran tensions after reports that President Donald Trump did not approve further attacks and Iranian military spokesman Mohammed Ekreminiya said strikes had paused. Lower oil prices reduced inflation concerns and pushed bond yields down, boosting demand for precious metals. Analysts noted muted domestic data while foreign indicators such as Germany’s Ifo index and U.S. durable‑goods orders were in focus.

Silver also rose, with the gram price trading around 90.12 TL, up 1.73% (about 1.59 TL) from the previous close. The ounce price reached roughly $59.74, a gain of 2.7%, driven by a weaker dollar and heightened investor interest in precious metals. Future movements are expected to depend on U.S. Federal Reserve policy, the dollar index, and broader economic data.
