Turkey serves Tire Şiş Köfte at NATO summit

The geographically‑protected meatball dish from the town of Tire, known as Tire Şiş Köfte, was selected by TasteAtlas as the world’s best minced‑meat dish and added to the menu of the NATO summit hosted by Turkey. A large order was prepared at the Tire Milk Cooperative’s facilities and shipped to the summit venue for the world leaders. Local officials—including the AK Party district chairman, the cooperative president and the restaurant‑owners’ association head—said the inclusion highlights the town’s culinary heritage and will boost the regional economy and visibility.

The dish’s presence at the summit demonstrates how a local Turkish specialty can receive international diplomatic exposure during a high‑profile security meeting.
