Turkey Sets 8 PM Closing Time for Savings Finance Company Branches
The Financial Institutions Union (Finansal Kurumlar Birliği, FKB) approved new professional standards for savings finance companies under BDDK supervision. Effective 1 July 2026, all branch offices must operate between 09:00 and 18:00, with the possibility of extending services until 20:00 to complete operational processes. No transactions or activities are permitted after 20:00, and branches must be closed at that hour.
The decision, signed by FKB Board Chairman Ali Emre Ballı and Deputy Chairman Ahmet Özcan, was also reported to the Ministry of Interior and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK). The rules aim to strengthen discipline and standardise working hours across the sector, which has seen rapid growth and increasing staff turnover from traditional banks.
