Ordu hazelnut harvest wages set for 2026

The Ordu Ziraat Odaları İl Koordinasyon Kurulu, chaired by Arslan Soydan, announced the recommended daily wages for the 2026 hazelnut (fındık) harvest. The net daily rate for all workers is 1,750 TL, with specific rates of 1,750 TL for chefs, 1,900 TL for baggers, 2,250 TL for kilogram‑based baggers, 3,500 TL for cart drivers (including the cart), 15 TL per kilogram for pickers, and 6,000 TL per hour for patoz operators. Vehicle operators are paid 1,900 TL per day for up to 15 workers and 2,100 TL for larger crews. The council emphasized strict prohibition of child labor and the exclusion of elderly or sick workers from the orchards, warning that each detected child worker will incur an administrative fine. Employers must also verify that farm‑equipment operators hold an İŞKUR‑issued vehicle certificate.

These wage recommendations are advisory, based on the minimum wage parameters, and aim to standardize compensation across the region’s hazelnut sector.
