Turkey announces 2026 severance pay ceiling and pension wage increase schedule
The Treasury and Finance Ministry set the 2026 severance pay (kıdem tazminatı) ceiling at 73,729.87 TL for July–December, a rise of about 13.5% from the first‑half level.
Following the June inflation data (17.76% annual), pension benefits for SSK and Bağ‑Kür retirees will increase by the same rate, while civil servants and their retirees receive a 13.52% raise. Payment dates are scheduled for mid‑July 2026, varying by the last digit of the allocation number (e.g., digit 9 on 17 July, digit 0 on 26 July). Bağ‑Kür retirees will be paid between 25‑28 July.
Guard salaries were also adjusted: the July increase raises the monthly salary of a 9‑grade guard from 66,558 TL to 75,556.64 TL. The reforms affect millions of workers, with the lowest pension level raised to 23,552 TL and the minimum civil‑servant salary to 70,257 TL.
